CHASE CLI's with banking relationship???

Would anyone know if Chase would up your limit easier if you have a banking relationship with them? I'm thinking of opening an account with Chase since I have the CSP in hopes of possibly raising my limit in about 3 or 6 months or so.

If you put 10-20k in a checking/savings account and apply for a new card, you'll probably get a decent limit. Collect the signup bonus, close the new card after 11 months and combine that CL with another card instead.

I don't think they care about the other accounts. Ask for a CLI every 6months but im sure a HP will be required.

I have seen several reports of cards or CLI's being declined but upon recon and pointing out five figure deposits the result changed quickly.

I think it's definitely a "YMMV" situation.

I've had a checking/savings account for 8 years and 12-20k in checkings/savings and a few other products with them and my Freedoms limit reflected more of what was in my CR and/or my income than what is currently available in my accounts.

Oh okay. I'm just wondering if Chase does more for you if you have an account. It doesn't seem like it matters based off the feedback from everybody. I guess it just depends.

I wouldn't think so as you could easily withdraw the entireity of your account.

I think there are two separate questions: does the computer take into account your other products/balances/etc. with Chase, do these things matter in a manual review (such as a recon)? I have no idea about the first. I imagine that if you are a private banking client (cpc or jpm) that this is somehow flagged. At the same time, I doubt that actual balance in your checking account matters (though maybe your average daily balance does?).
For the second question, my limited experience suggests yes. First, when I reconned my original SWRR card, the analyst who I spoke with specifically mentioned my past mortgage (pif, no lates) and auto loan (pif, no lates). When I reconned the CSP (I'm persistent), the analyst was comfortable approving me without any interrogation based on my history with the SW card as well as the loans.
A few months ago, I opened a checking and an investment account with Chase and my banker stated that if I were interested in additional cards or needed higher limits, I should call her, as she could speak directly with underwriting on my behalf. I'm sure its the same people we call on the recon line, but I'm sure the banker would mention my relationship and the size of my investments if she called. I haven't had a chance to test this yet, but everyone I've ever dealt with at Chase has emphasized building a relationship.
So if you have 20k in the bank most of the time, I'd go through your banker for any cli or new apps. Can't hurt, right.
