myFICO Boards

I've noticed something about these boards the couple of months I've been on: The posters on here are NICE! I lurk around other boards, two in particular who shall remain nameless, and the disrespect and insults are disgusting! The posters argue amongst themselves, hurling insults and calling names, it's so juvenile. I really don't see the sense of them being on the boards except to bully people. How boring and pathetic.

If a new person comes on with a credit problem of any kind, certain people attack, and I do mean attack them for being irresponsible, lazy, on and on. It's a wonder anybody wants to ask questions for fear of being shot down by some of those people!

I've learned so much about credit cards since I've been on here and all I can say is the myFICO boards have classy posters (present company included, of course)!

I agree 100%! I hang at other forums, but this is far and away my favorite board for the same reasons you stated. BTW, since this thread is not specifically discussing CCs, I am going to move it to the GCI forum.

Ms. Queen I agree and seen it happen. I find this forum a safe haven and respect the monitors and people that provide positive helpful responses without you feeling as if you have lost your dignity.

LOL I don't even like boards/forums for the very reasons you've listed, but I'm addicted to the MyFico forums and no one who knows me can believe it

The one time that I stuck my head in Planet Feedback, I was just aghast. There was one poster who was a bit obnoxious, I suppose, but they were just ripping him to shreds. It's like online Jerry Springer.

A big part of turning bad credit around is getting past guilt and shame and defensiveness. I don't know how anyone sticks it out on the other boards long enough to get some self-confidence and understanding.

I Agree! We're all here to support each other. I made myself a promise that I would gain knowledge, repair credit and pass along what I learned to others.

It is indeed a rare occurrence to stumble upon a forum populated by such a diverse group of people, who come from various socio-economic-political backgrounds that seek improvement in their credit lives and become successful in those endeavors, without judgement, sarcasm, or condescending behavior from others.

I believe it is the purveyors of this forum, who spawned this air of cooperation, sincerity and assistance. And my sincere thanks to them.

I too have strayed into other forums, and was appalled by the behavior displayed there. I come back here and think to myself why go elsewhere when I can find more than I can ever hope to comprehend right here at the myFiCO forums? Not only have I no need to seek information elsewhere, I do not DESIRE to go elsewhere.

Dido... The first thing in the morning after I check all my cc accounts for possible CLI's and email for possible score alerts I go straight to Myfico. Then I get home and go back on the boards to see whats going on....At one point a family member asked me if I was having an affair because I spend so much time at the computer. LOL!

There was one person a few months ago that was posting about FICO was designed to keep people from getting ahead or some such nonsense like that.

She even had a web sute with a forum that only she was allowed to post under. Very scary/

Anyone here remember that episode?

On the gamers forums, they are called trolls and I dont think we currently have any here. I suspect that if one shows up, they are quickly dispatched by the mods here. After loosing 40 points on their FICO score of course.

I have wandered to the "Dark Side" to do research-

but- I do not post there.

I am very pleased with the Admin, mods and community that has been built here.

We have an awesome board here- it is nearly self-moderated.

I'm so glad this thread popped up here because I had just been thinking the same thing. I mostly stick with the credit cards thread here because I've found much wonderful information here, but on all of the threads I've seen great posts and replies - all well thought-out.

I have a couple other locations that I check, just to keep my nose out looking for information, but this has become my favorite and most "homey." (and that's HOME-y, not homely...)

The support, gentle nudges to correct naughty behaviour, and knowledge.... well, it's all worth it's weight in gold. I particularly appreciate that those with lesser credit infractions on their histories don't belittle those of us who have made serious errors. We're all in it together and that's why it has become my favorite spot.

I've raised TU 49 points since I've been coming here (around the beginning of February I became a regular "lurker" and then poster).

I agree 100% with everyone. I went to another board to "peak" a few weeks ago and I was floored by the rude, disrespectful posts there! They seem to want to put people down and ridicule them...Needless to say, I left that place FAST! This is by far the best credit board, everyone is very kind no matter what credit score you have!

scrambling, yes, I wonder what real scores those people have because, WHY are they on the boards to begin with? Usually those types are the worst offenders. I suppose it makes them feel better about themselves to rag on asomebody else. Pathetic.

I tried contacting Verizon via PFB - and got blasted for not paying ('scuse me they removed it)...

The camaraderie is great here (US v THEM)... and no one wants to do something they shouldn't - only make 'them' play by the rules.

I also want to thank everyone for the knowledge they have given me!!!!

Good for you Beth!! I am addicted to this forum like you and anybody else too. I never visit any other site where people discuss CC issuses, and I don't know they are good or bad. I am so glad that I am here and learning a lot and able to help others (I hope they got help from me...). Moreover, I love this site and I love all of you guys!!
