Why do I have an NFCU luv button?

Do they want me to hit it, or is it just always there? Seriously confused here since I just activated my card yesterday.

If you have the luv button it will be a SP. Just don't ask for a crazy amount.

Hold on, what? Really? I just got a increase on my Cash Rewards last month and now the luv button is showing up, should I go for it?

Okay, I think I'm going to take a chance and hit it, but how much should I ask for? 1500 would be 3x, so maybe I should ask for $1k?

Last question, just to make sure I'm not crazy. When I click on my cc account, there is a box to the upper right that says "update my personal information, "dispute a transaction", and "request a credit limit increase". That's the luv button, right? Not where you have to go through the account services tab to apply for a cli.

Can you post a screen shot. I don't think I've ever seen a Luv button from them.

The luv button and the account services tab request are one and the same. If you just got your card, give them some time get used to your spending patterns. That button shows up randomly every 3 or 4 logins. It's not indicative of their likelihood to approve you this way or that. It is just there. It's tried and true, and it can in fact result in a HP. This has happened to many folks here who have requested any amount beyond what they are willing to give. You hit submit, and you are at risk of a HP. If you do not have one to spare, stop letting folks egg you on and wait like you would with any other card. Not said harshly, but just how long do folks think they can exploit something or a process without a lender going back and reviewing how they do things if everybody and their grandmother are taking advantage?

This is not to say that they won't grant you an increase, but you'd be in a better position to receive one if you wait a few months.
