Spoke with AMEX EO about Unicorn PC

Was told I can call In on 4/8 and complete the PC.

Unfortunately I wouldn't get any signup bonus or waived AF for for the 1st year.

Doesn't sound like a good deal now....I wonder if they allow a PC to a revolver.

Yea thats true but not sure if I want it now. Gotta do some more research.

Zync has the MRE points and all others are MR. The MR are valued more for travel right? Can that be used on any airline?

I believe I can go to any charge card but not sure of getting a revolver

(sorry, hit the post button too early)

I'm not sure if it works in your particular sitiation, but why don't you want to do the following:

1) Try to apply for a revolver with Amex. As far as I know, as long as you are already an Amex member decline will only result in SP.

Can't give any specific advice on the card, but it is believed that Delta might be the easiest revolver to get.

If you are approved, then you'll have another card backdated to March 'XX (where XX is the year you opened your first Amex)

After approval you close your Zync and wait 2-3 months actively using your new revolver and then apply to whatever charge Amex you might want (e.g. PRG)

If approved for PRG as well, you will:

1) have 2 backdated Amex cards

2) still have Zync as closed on your report for many years as 1 more tradeline

3) have AFs for both cards waived for the 1st year

4) have signup bonuses for both cards

all for the price of 2 HPs...

I think this might be quite a good way ahead.

If declined for revolver now, you're not losing anything. Do you want to PC you Zync by yourself for a reason or is it the time when Amex started to force it?

Im in the garden until 1/7/14 so no new INQs for me.

I am willing to PC the unicorn tho, will have to wait for 4/8 to see what my options are.

I really can not imagine, why they would do a PC to a revolver. It is a whole other kind of credit card type. But please keep us updated. I would be interested in a PC, if one could do a revolver ... else I just let it sit and rest

Yea i'm doubtful myself. I'd be happy with a better charge card tho.

The MR points can be transfered to their travel partners where MRe points can not be transfered, this is the only real difference.

No, they don't allow a PC from a charge account to a revolver.

Unless they change the rules, that's not an option.

Things can change. I hope they let you PC to a revolver. My BCP is my favorite card, bar none! I've had it less than a year and so far received over 600.00 in cash back. It's more than worth the annual fee to me. Good luck, LS!
