Target Card CLI

i received a Target CC in Dec w/ a $200 CL. I just got my statement for March and see that they have increased it to $500. Can I expect that they will review the account and continue to increase it every three months.

if so, what are my changes of being coverted to a Target Visa? Anyone have this happen yet?

Congrats!

Word is that they do account reviews every three months. Doen't mean you'll get a CLI every three months, but they will do a soft pull to see if you're eligible.

Visa might come after a year or so, but you never know. They're a little unpredictable.

I've had mine almost 7 months now and I'm still stuck at $200.

I'm not jealous at all.

Cheddar you have no reason to me jealous ( ha ha ha ) you have gotten prime credit cards. I have to pray and work at getting where your at.

05/2002 - Red card w/ 200CL

08/2004 - Auto upgrade to Visa 1k cl

02/2008 - Auto CLI to 5k

I had a habit of carrying a balance on the card. I PIF in Nov 07 and after 3 months of carrying a ZERO balance, they upgraded. (Oddly enough I did a CLI request in Jan 08 and they declined.)

The target card was funny. I first got it in April 2007, and it was $200. I activated it and put it in the desk drawer, NEVER used it. Then 6 months later I received the target visa in the mail (October 2007). $1000 CL! Hmmm...I was happy to get it, just activated it this morning. I am a bit slow to actually use the credit-yes unactivated for 4 months and some change. Today I took it out and bought Jo Jo's for 75 cents. LOL! Util=0.00075% Yeah me!

Why??? I would trade you my Target Visa for your new scores!!! You are rocking the FICO train, and I want to get on! I can't wait to get over 700-You are a Credit ROCK star Cheddar! I hope to learn a few things to start bringing it up----maybe by next year when all the inq's fall off!

Thanks for the kind words, miahmarie, but the Target thing has sort of become my personal white whale. I've been passed up for CLI twice (at 3 months and at 6 months), even though I have prime cards with decent limits now. It's even worse because I spend a ton of money at Target anyway, and I could really do a lot with this card and its rewards program if they would just give me a decent CL already.

As far as your own goals, I'm sure you'll be there in no time. Just takes a little time and persistence.
