A FICO Watchers Dream....My Target Score Has Been Reached!!!!!

I had the FICO watchers equivalent to ecstacy this morning when I woke up and opened my email. I got a score power alert that I had reached my target credit score!!! My target score which I set a year ago when I got score power was a 650 because I figured that would put me in position to lease a new vehicle when I'm ready and get a prime credit card. Well I actually exceeded that by 9 points!!! A year ago this month I had a 573 Equifax score and I have now reached 659!!! I'm very proud of myself. And the funny thing is, all I had to do is let my credit cards report a balance. The only thing that has changed on my CR is my Capitol One card is reporting a new $12 balance instead of $0 like I had been keeping it at. My score actually jumped 17 points for that. It went from a 642-659. I really wish I had known this secret before!!!! Just for letting my CC's report balances I have gained a total of 24 points!!! So I'm now letting 2 out of 3 cards that I have report balances and I think I'll keep it at that. Thank you so much forum members for educating me on this!!! You all rock and I am exstatic!!!! Oh and on a side note I also got my BOA secured card deposit back in the mail yesterday!!! This has been a great weekend!!! I'm on cloud 9 right now and I dont want to come down LOL!!!

(BTW, if you want more frequent score alerts, change your setting to 659, your current score. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but it does seem to work.)

Bunny, Weed out any baddies, prune cards that will not grow with you and apply fertilizer of on time payments,account age and low util to all remaining accounts and watch scores grow. When scores get high enough pick new card if interested.

Perfect! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Gardening involves time and patience (not my strong point!), but my scores went up around a hundred points in less than a year just from waiting and minimizing util and waiting some more, so I guess I can do it again.

edit: I doubt I can do the hundred points in a year thing again, LOL --I meant that I can wait and be patient again.
