I applied for a chase freedom credit card and I was given the 7-10 day message and I immediatly called the recon # and I was told that I was going to have to fax copy of my DL and SS card .. Do you guys know what that means? Denial? Verification ? I called today (1 week since I Applied) and they told me that my fax was received and it is being reviewed.

It means they wanted to check your ID. Did you have a fraud alert or any sort of alert on any of your credit reports?

You can always try calling back and seeing if you can get a friendlier rep.

Yes, have you disputed any information on your reports? Fraud Alert might trigger this but sounds like approval.

I never disputed anything on any of reports I did get approved for a Discover IT one week before I Applied for the Chase Freedom.

I really hope so.. Whenever I call the reps are very nice and they all say the samething that in other to process my application further they have to scan a copy of my DL and ss card on their system. (One week today that I applied and One week tomorrow that I faxed everything they asked.) and when I call that auto # that they have it says that my app is being reviewed to wait 30 days to find out the decision but one rep told me to call wednesday of this week and my file should be scanned by then. is this a normal process to get in with Chase ? Whay you guys think is the next step once my file is scanned ?

Call on Wednesday. Idk if its normal, they already had my information from my auto loan but I still had to speak to the verification dept.

Same thing happened to me. I was approved after faxing my SS card and auto insurance card as proof of address.

How long did the process take from when you faxed the info and for them to approve you ? What was you CL if you don't mind me asking.

A little update.. I received a letter from Chase today and the letter said what already did/knew to fax or send a copy of my DL and SS card the letter had a different # and it was signed by the 'fraud' department. So I called the # (it was a different # from the one I have been calling) the lady asked me my DOB, How old I am now, my address and then she stated that my app still pending she said they did receive my fax with my DL and SS card she advised me to call back friday 04/05/13

I just called the Auto # ( 888 - 338 - 2586 ) and it says I was approved !! I called to find my CL and I was approved for $2500 I am happy to get my foot in and I will work my way up ^ for CLI in the future thanks everyone for all the help ..
