Going to apply to my second credit card today!!

So after my 6th months establish credit history, I'm going to apply to a 2nd CC at Apple Federal credit union, and go with a secured CC. After getting my FICO score yesterday at 667, I think this is going to be a great step for me, as to achieving of owning a house one day! But after 6 months of using the card I'm going to ask to unsecure it. Anyways, what do you guys think? Good or bad move?

I'd try for unsecured, but that's just me (I'd wait til a year). If you have a card already, why bother getting a secured card

I say try capital one then Discover I have had good luck this month with both of them.

I have a journeys card with capital one. Since I'm 18, I'm a full time student and working part time, so I'm not making a lot of money for any of the major cc's. well in my head lol

The 6 months of history was it with Apple Federal?

That's why i asked do have an account with CU?(apple federal) If so go for an unsecured with them. One more question if you don't mind what do you spend the most money only monthly?

Get a student discover =) or try for freedom.

BOA Cash Rewards shouldn't be too difficult to get.

Oh sorry, and yes I have a savings account with them only. The most i spend monthly: Gas $200 a month, and Food, or eating out.

Chase in most cases likes to see 1 yr history but you may get better results

My EQ Fico was exactly at 667 also when I hit my 6 month mark with Capital One. I went and tried out the prequalified offer at Discover.com and I actually saw that I was pre-approved!

You should go try it out. 

I got the Discover with 5K at 663, and not much of a credit history at the time. Was nearing the end of my 7 year waiting period.

Had 1 baddie then (Judgement) and history with an Amex Optima/Oasis at 900CL.

If you can spare the inq, I'd probably give it a try.

If it gets declined, go back to plan A, or try Cap 1, I believe their underwriting is more relaxed.

The only baddie I have are my inquires in the past year. I have 5 so far :/
