...you apply for another Amex, is it a SP or a HP? I thought I read it's an SP but i coudl be wrong.

Nevermind. They SP first to see if you're qualified. If so, they HP. Correct?

Like myjourney said if you get declined it is a SP but if your approved it is a HP. Sometimes it casn slip up if your not logged in to get that perk from AMEX.

If approved for the 1st AMEX, the 2nd application will be a SP.

If approved for the 1st & 2nd applications, a third application would require a HP.

So three apps = 2 HP's & 1 SP.

I have a BCP and applied for the PRG a few weeks ago and it was a hard pull via transunion for me here in CA.

That's incorrect if its not done immediately after the 1st approval. If you wait days between apps it's 2 HP's.

It also seems they dont do a new SP for new apps. They use the last pull they did. I was denied in March for a SP that was done in january when I had high util. I have to wait until whenever they soft again to get an approval.

That's what I thought!I'm an existing amex member.I just applied for an amex simply busines card and I was turned down due to inquiries.When II checked my experian credit report ,there was a inquiry there from Amex.Now i'm confused.Not sure if it's different when you apply for an amex business card.

Sorry, meant to include that part. I applied for the BCP, got approved, applied for the PRG literally a second later, got approved. Only 1 HP. Like 30 minutes later I applied for the SPG, had to wait for the BCP & PRG approvals to finalize in their system I guess, got approved. One more HP.

So I was approved for the BCE yesterday. If I applied for the Delta Sky Miles right now, would it be an SP or HP?

It will most likely be a HP since it's been a day. Might have been able to get away with a SP if you applied within an hour of the BCE approval.

I apped for BCE and Skymiles at the same time...double browser trick...got "in progress" for both...called...they asked my choice for first approval...i said BCE...boom...approved!

Still showing approved :-) but for the skymiles it has been saying "in progress". Just one HP.
