Capitol One Banks Now open

If you have heard or you don't have one in your town, the Capitol One Banks are now open and serving customers.

Yes, they bought out North Folk Bank and are all over the place. Where does this leave the Capitol One accounts. Since, they are now a bank that can provide better services does anyone thing they will have an expansion of cards offered and rates. The only cards they seem to speak of is the No Hassle Card.

Do you think if I open an account in six to eight months when my score increases they will give me better rates?

At the Capital One Bank, will the tellers have scripts in front of them that they are not allowed to deviate from?

"Hi, I'd like to open a savings account. What is the current APY?"

"Yes, I understand your savings are very important to you. Would you like to open a checking account, as well?"

"No, thank you. What's the current APY on the savings account?"

"I understand. Did you know that our checking accounts have no monthly service charge?"

We have one on every corner now. They bought out all of our Hibernia's.

I banked with them for a short while, then moved on to Chase.

Ha! I thought my eyes were deceiving me, I saw one today "under construction" the Norfolk Bank near me still says Norfolk -- didn't know they bought them out.

I don't know about Norfolk Bank, but I heard from a different source today North Fork Banks in NYC are now Capital One.

Yes, Braznyc the makeshift signs they use to cover up the new bank signs fell off last week during the windstorm.

Its official- ATM, tellers and all..lol

I used to pass by a North Fork Bank every day on the way to work, but that's since changed to something else so I haven't had an opportunity to verify the name change for myself yet.

Yeah, I plan to ask my friend tomorrow, as she banks wit them. I'm sure it's true, because I believe where I saw the one today use to be a bank, just can't remember which one. As I'm sure you know nyc has a bank on every corner, so it can be a bit dizzying.

Yeah, that is the truth.

I was walking down the street today and a passerby asked me if I knew where the closest Chase branch was. I told him it was a couple of blocks down the street and pointed him in the right direction. The friend I was with reminded me it was the other direction. I realized she was right, and at first I thought I made a mistake and had pointed the guy in the wrong direction until I remembered there was actually a Chase branch a couple of blocks in both directions.

He was going to run into one eventually no matter which direction he went.

cap one bought north fork quite awhile ago and it was soon after that they lightened up on ccs and clis and started reporting limits to cras. I think they have become a better bank to do business with. They are HUGE..........now.

Unfortunately, Capital One had bought NorthFork Bank out a couple of years ago. My DH has a leased dumptruck through NorthFork and last month I was looking through the paperwork to find out the contact numbers and lo and behold I see Capital One in really small letters plastered all over the bottom of the lease agreement. That stinks! Now I know why I can't seem to get anywhere with customer service. For the last six month they never returned my calls or answered my faxes when inquiring on the payoff on the loan docs.

I am now in the process of finding a new leasing company that does not have Capital One involved.
