Barclays PC - Easy or Not

I have the Apple financing card with a $10K CL. Apart from the occasional financing and no AF, I don't use it much or see much value is the card. I know that if I don't use it, I might be CLD'ed.

What's their PC policies? Pretty painless? Hard pulls?

I was thinking maybe the Ring or the LL Bean card since I do shop at the LL Bean outlet in Maine

When I PC'd my Apple Financing to the Barclay Rewards card, it was quick and painless. The CSR I spoke with however informed me that if I was to switch to any other credit product, it would invovle a HP.

I had to call 4-5 times before I got someone who would PC for me. I was only given the option of Rewards (Visa version) or the Apple iTunes rewards (Black/dark grey version of the card you have that gives iTunes gift cards). I was told those are the only options I could have. I'm pretty sure they will not switch you into another partnered product, but you may be able to convince them for the Ring.

The option they might offer is applying for the card you want and moving around CLs. Which would be an HP.

I had a crazy experience trying to PC my Apple Visa. I called Customer Service to inquire about some charges on my card, then I figured since I was already on the phone with them I asked about PCing to the Barcaly Rewards card. The person I spoke with said this was not possible, so I hung up. Called back again early this week and asked for the PC, and the rep said I wasn't eligible. So this morning I called the Credit Analyst line and asked for a PC. The Analyst said I could apply for the Rewards card, call them back, and they would move the balance from the Apple card to the Rewards card. I told them I would think about it. So I immediately called the number on the back of the card and told the rep I wanted a PC. He said the way they handle it is you apply for the new card, then call call and close the Apple card and move the balance to the new card. So I asked to speak to a closing specialist. The rep said he didn't know what I was talking about, but asked if I wanted to close my card. I told him that I was thinking about closing it, but I wanted to explore my options first. He then said I need to talk to a 'Retention Specialist' and transferred me. I told the Retention Specialist what I wanted to do and he said no problem, talked me through the new terms and that was that. I should get the new card in a couple weeks! So you may need to speak with a Retention Specialist if you are getting the run around.

I actually asked Barclays about their PC policies before applying for the no-AF arrival card. They explained that they would not do a downgrade if I applied for the AF arrival with bigger sign-up bonus, but that I was welcome to close the card later and reapply for the no-AF arrival. I didn't want to do that, so I just applied for the card that I actually wanted (the no-AF version).

I am sure, though, that if you really want it and are willing to make a few calls to find the right person, you might be able to work out a deal with someone.

I just received my Barclaycard Rewards card in the mail. It is a Visa instead of a MasterCard, most likely since I PC'd from the Apple Visa.

Barclay's ieither really irritates me or really makes me happy...
But the one time I tried a PC, it was denied... Even with me having applied and having a nice avail unused credit line w them.
I wanted the Arrival card and had a $7700 cl to xfer from my Travelocity Amex.
Analyst was quite surly proclaiming "an American Express product can't be changed to a Mastercard product"

Eh
