I recently applied for an Amex Gold Delta and a Green card on the same day. I was denied for the Delta and received a letter that Amex cancelled my application for the Green card. Does that mean they didn't do a HP for both or did they?

Amex did a Hp on the first. Are you sure you are ready for Amex - assuming the scores in your siggy are correct?

Yep, I'm ready but my scores certainly do not reflect that. I was recently approved for a Discover IT, Citi card and a card through my local CU and received a CLI from my BofA. Amex doesn't think I'm ready but only I know what's really up. I just wanted so badly to get in the door. From what I've seen of you 09Lexie, on other posts, I know I can count on you to ask a question like that. Thanks, I need to be kept on my toes And yes my scores are pretty close to the ones in my siggy now.

I'm new to rebuilding. When I applied for the discover my EQ was 667. Still bad but better than these more recent scores. I do have quite a bit of inquiries on my EX and TU. I do also have some baddies currently in dispute

Your scores have slipped for obvious reasons ( new accits, inq's) - coupled with the baddies Amex is in your future but not until you garden and take care of those baddies.

Be patient- it will come.

Also my eq was 667 for discover but my exp 50 points lower for some reason my exp is quite lower than other scores. I'd suggest waiting 6 months then trying again for green card.

But it's generally easier to get approved for a charge card (i.e., unlikely to get approved for a revolver if they wouldn't approve you for a charge). Then he could have (if accepted for green) app'ed straight away for the Delta for 1HP/2cards or SP for a denial.

+1 @ Webhopper!
You can apply for as many Amex cards as you want till you are denied. (Don't recommend this) once you receive a denial, all subsequent apps are kicked out and no apps allowed for 30 days. This is the reason many recommend apping the charge product first then the revolver. The charge cards have lower underwriting requirements for approval and higher likelihood of approval over the revolver. Hope this helps.
