American Express Application Status

I currently have a AMEX Zync card with the Pre-set spending Limit ($500). I noticed today when I signed in to AMEX website that I was able to "Suspend" my Auto Pay. I have NEVER actually had an Autopay payment done because I always pay way before the due date; however, in the past when I've looked into the features l did not have the option to "Suspend" auto pay. Also before, there was a message that would remind me that "Autopay was required for my account"...that was no longer there. So for the heck of it, I went ahead and "Suspended" the autopay from May - July. So that got me to thinking that maybe something was changing for the better so I thought I would call in to inquire about this.

I spoke to the Customer Service Rep and explained to her that I was able to temporarily suspend the autopay feature on my account and if this would cause any issues. She said no, not at all. She did say that I can "Suspend" but can not Cancel it altogether at this time or the account would be closed. So while I had her on the phone, I ask her if it were still true that folk with the Zync card with PSL could not apply for another AMEX card while the Zync was still opened. She said No, and transferred me to the Application Reps.

Once there, I asked AGAIN. I told her that I had the AMEX ZYNC with PSL of $500 and would this prohibit me from applying and possibly being approved? Did I have to close my Zync 1st? She said No. So I applied for the Green card. She told me to check the Application Status Line to find out if I was approved. I just did and my application does not even show up. I called the # for the Application Status and again there was no record of my application.....what does this mean?

In the past because I had the ZYNC with PSL, I received a message on the Application Status saying my application for the new AMEX was "Cancelled" because I had the Zync with PSL.....so now it's not showing an application at all? Is this the new way they Cancel applicatios from people with the Zync PSL LOL!!!? Any thoughts??

Does the application show up under the /myappstatus section of their website?

I have the 200$ hard limit and have never had a problem applying for another Amex. I applied for PRG in October and was denied because of my reports but not because if the Zync. I applied for the BCE and was approved just two weeks ago.

Well, I know their "electronic system" which provides the customer support reps info on an application has been down for at least 2-3 days now. Could be a factor...

I actually just receieved an email from them saying my Application was being processed. So I guess maybe there was some sort of delay. I'm checking now to see if it shows up on the Application Status website.

Yeah, it shows up now on their Application Status website. It says In Progress. Never got that before so I don't know what this may mean, but time will tell.....

I was approved for BCE last week with PSL Zync $500 limit... Had my zync for 6 months ... i applied every month until the sixth month, they finally approved.... It was "in progress" for a day then approved.... i think it doesnt matter if you have a psl zync, they mustve looked @ my credit manually

I applied for 2 with one pull; one approved, second IN PROGRESS.

I do not know whether i should call or wait ... I applied 3 days ago on a holiday.

Called and ... DECLINED

Actually I wasn't expecting anything else. My score on EXP is the lowest of all 3. BTW, the agent put me on hold and also got an alert for the second inquiry on EXP.

I applied for the Green on the 26th, and it has been "In Progress" ever since. Last time this happened, I called and...DENIED (rep appeared to have manually reviewed it). Decided this time to just let it go and continue to check the status. If nothing happens, great. If I get approved, great.
