Can I get ANY credit card with low 600 score?

and no revolving credit currently.....do I need a secured card first before I even try?

What about a Walmart card?

Haven't had a CC in years and years--but wanting to rebuild...

If you google "who gave me credit", that database will show a good range. When I was in the low 600's and no CC's, no one would give me a CC. I became an AU on my boyfriends very low limit CC, and Walmart gave me a card at around 630 after my AU card reported for a few months.

Hi! Welcome to MyFico Community Forums!

My suggestion would be to use the shopping cart trick to get a store card, to start your revolving credit rebuild.

Other than that, you can go with a secured card from Bank of America, Wells Fargo, or Capital one. Some of these have partially secured options.

Also, check into joining DCU. They are a credit union, where anyone can join. They offer secured loans, secured cards, and unsecured cards.

Many members have reported success through applying with them.

I was in the same boat as you just this last October my scores in the low 620s and applied for Capital One Platinum ($500) and was approved (could also use the cap one card finder tool to match you up) and a couple months later Walmart ($600) and then Capital One Cash Rewards ($500). My Cap One Platinum should automatically go to $750 in a couple months here.

Just obtained a Victorias Secret card with a score of 602. Our score was that low due mostly to having a low age of accounts and no revolving credit.

Capital 1 is always a good option...

I do think that the OP has a good chance with DCU

Capital One or Orchard Bank (which is now Capital One) are both worth a shot.

I've had credit in the low 600s for a bit now, and have 2 capital one cards, an orchard bank card, a target card, walmart card, and an amazon-chase visa card. None of them are secured, and I have an active baddie on my credit (2 baddies on TU I think). An inquiry or two isn't gonna kill you- worth trying, at least, before you start shelling out for a secured card.

For unsecured Capitol One and GECRB products would be my first look. WF and BOA both hav secured cards that would also be an option.

Capital one gave me my first rebuilder credit card.. scores were probably low to mid 500's.... (two years ago).... applied thru preapproval letter... then applied for another cap one last year and i started gettin approved for GE cards with scores in the high 500's low 600's... had at least 9 negatives a year ago, including 4 collections.... but was able to obtain GE cards .... now, I only one charged off left on each report and no collections... My 3 GE cards are 5k each now (two were opened 5/2012 and one 07/2012) ... I'm sure you can get a capital one and a GE card and start from there.... good luck...

CapOne gave me my first CC with a 602 score. I remember having my eyes glued to the screen and holding my breath praying that I was approved for anything! You'll start with a low limit, probably $300 or $500 if approved but it will help you build up that score too something better in the future. Crossing my fingers for you!

@+1 with the cap one low limit.... but I am impressed with their Exec office.... the cash rewards that I opened march of last year started @Anonymous and increased to $750 (with credit steps) after 6 months... called their executive office three times the past 5 months and received an increase each time.... it's sitting @3k now and the capital one i received two years ago started at $300 is sitting @ 2k (also got an increase)

Thank you all for the suggestions! I didn't want to just blindly start applying when I know they pull a report each time you apply. So thankful for your tips!

Try Credit One Bank. I'm in the same boat as you and they approved me for $400, then a month later $600. Victoria Secret's approved me too when I was in the high 500's

Try your local Credit Union or Capital One Journey.

I received a $300 Journey with a high 500s score and baddies on my CR.
