Express Preapproval (Shopping Cart Trick)

Hey guys, I just did the shopping cart trick at Express, got the preapproval popup, and signed up for the Express NEXT credit card, it got approved! The card should arrive in 14 days according the message! I got a limit worse than my Cap One Card, at $250 UGH!!. Are Comenity Bank backed credit cards known to grow with you?

P.S. There's no hard pull using this method correct?

yes it does grow with you as long as you use it. (so ive heard)

and it should be a soft pull if you got the pop up.

it still hits aaoa and you do get a new account ding but no inquries.

I too did the shopping cart trick last Wednesday. I got my card last night 500 limit. Soft pull confirmed if only asking for last 4 of social.

Congrats!! I declined the express card but I do have a victoria secret and brylane home card with commenity. When I called asking about a cli, they told me you have to wait 9 months. Hopefully they will be more like GE after that.

When you guys did this, after going on to the website, did you sign in and then add something to your shopping cart? Because if so the information's already filled in and I feel that's why I can never get the preapproval to pop up.

So what exactly did you guys do after going onto the website.?

Don't sign in. Just add one (or more if you're actually planning on buying them) item in the shopping cart and then go to check out. Fill out your name, address etc., and the moment you enter your zip code, the box should appear below. It's not a separate (new window) pop-up, but it just appears where you'd generally enter your payment info.

Being curious, I tried this, too. I did not pull the trigger but I wonder, do you think the initial CL could be tied to the value of the items in the cart when the pre-approved notification appears?

Do you pay for the items first or the popup comes prior to paying? Do you put your info in or does the popup comes before your entering your information

You don't have to actually buy anything just have something in your car and go check out, once you put in your info it should pop up.

I just did this and got approved at $500. Then my side went over to Victoria Secret and got approved for $350!

I was also told 9 months but I was able to get a CLI on my J.Crew card after having it for barely 2 months. Weird.

I also got a CLI with J. Crew, but I bought a couple of things during the 2 months.

The other Comenity's store cards were declined for the CLI. Maybe because I haven't used it yet?

Did your JCrew show an amount at the preapproval? I did it this morning but didnt take the offer b/c they didn't state any credit limit.

It did when I got mine. Most will get $250- unless their credit score is good. Some will get higher.

this wont work for me ive tried so many things lol.... its just not working i dont get a pop up or anything.....any1 have detailed step by step

You have to type in your address, the same way it appears on your credit report. If not, they won't be able to identify you. Check your credit report, or last one that you had, and see what address they have you listed under.
