Thanks daybreak

So Do joint, au and regular credit cards(and by that I mean one in their name) look the same as far as score goes?

And another question does a joint credit card look just as good as a regular one. Under manual review? Or can they tell its joint?

Regular and joint both look great on recons, because it's assumed that a.) your credit was pulled anyway and b.) you're making payments (or are least responsible for them) on the account.

From what I remember on the forum, they can't do it directly through secure messaging. They will send you paperwork you both have to fill out, as if it was a new CC application. Then from there they will either pull the new account holder, or both of you to ensure you both are capable of paying on the account.

I'm no expert here but I don't think you have to wait 6 months for the person to apply for credit. The card should backdate on the new person's CR the same history you have with the card. So it will look like they have had the card years as soon as it hits the CR.

If they have such a thin file that they have no credit score, it will take 6 months for a credit score to be determined. My husband's file is like this. I added him as an AU to my Freedom and Cap1 Cash Rewards card in December and as an AU to my Discover It and Barclays this month. Checked Credit Karma a week ago and he still doesn't have a credit score.
