I want to app so bad!!!

Lol I have to tell myself no every single day...
My TU recently jumped up to nearly 750, while EQ is at like 680... And who knows where Exp is...
But my score has NEVER been that high on TU!!! I always just wan to app, app, app when my scores reach new highs, which is sort of counterintuitive... LOL

I have the same problem. I get a credit high when I see my score get closer and closer to 760. It will all be worth it in the end if I let my CC's age, G.L.

What MIGHT you want to apply for though?

I feel like you are GE'd out.

Barclay but you already have 1 from them and not sure you want to mess with them further with how they are.

You got prwtty much all of the notable good ones. I agree you definitely have too much exposure with GE. Why not garden and get that score up to 800......

You DO have some great lines to garden with.

I remember when LS was going through a bit of that stage a while back. He wanted to app so bad WE could feel it. Me and a few others reminded him of his goal and how he might regret it later and he held out like a trooper. Look at him now

Frankly, the OP is reaching a "plateau" maximum of unsecured credit that can be approved based on individual income alone. Recently, GECRB declined his request for additional credit and Discover only auto-granted 750. Much of his credit exposure is centered around one mainline creditor. Even if he toys with the HHI to gain maximum results, it will be borderline approval and not the most favorable terms. While paying his bills and continuous usage (mostly BT activity) is not in dispute, his agressive stance on seeking "unnecessary" or additional credit - regardless if this pads his utilization, will not be seen favorable to most lenders. Essentially, if one has a decent credit profile, there should be no need to have every declined effort reconsidered. Of course, his 3x AMEX CLI timeframe is coming up in June.

and to OP, If you are really nearing your next Amex CLI, then I say wait until after that... nothing is better than $25k Amex approval (okay well not nothing, but certainly not another GE store card, Visa, Amex or not branded!)

The difference in inquiries could be holding my EQ back. I think that EQ is just a harsher model.... I have no baddies or diff info other than inquiries...
And yes, the thought of a $25k cl on my BCE has def'ly kept me from even bothering GE for any more clis.
Furthermore, 80-90k of my 140k of cred is from GE; many of my GE accts are 3,4,5 years old. I need to work on cli'ing existing prime lines. Barclay's is due for a cli in May, Amex in June, and Im not taking a hp for a cli on Chase. Might open a BOA or new Barclaycard come fall! I want Penfed too!!:-) for the 4.99% lofe of bt offer! Oooo and a new Amex.
If I do leave the garden early, it will be for an Amex for the rewards and backdating.

Seems like you are going to wait until the Fall. I agree that you need to tend to your other lenders more - kinda lopsided now but your plan of attack is a good one.

By the way... Don't forget to update your siggy with your new CLI! 😃
