I think I wasted this INQ

Chase Disney Premier Visa Card..

$49 AF $500 CL 22% APR after 5 years of rebuilding credit since my BK happened in 2008, I am still getting small limits.. shaking my head! so my point of this thread is.. keep it? or close it out ASAP and try it again next year to see if I can get a better terms ?

Why not keep It for a year put good use on it and PIF. You may get auto luv and of not take a HP at yearmark for a nice CLI!!

Yeah thats a good idea, I like your idea it just that I am getting sick of fees ( which is why I am loving Discover Card ) FP and Orchards and merrick banks all have fees so I dont know if I need other card with more fees top of it.

Maybe they will give you a CLI.if you really want the Disney a card, why close it to re-apply next year? Maybe you can PC it to the Rewards no AF in 12 mos.

I would be AXING FP asap!!! The small $49 fee Is worth keeping for a prime account that will grow with you.

You already took the hit for the inquiry....might as well pay the $50 and see if it will grow some...just don't carry a balance and the APR doesnt matter.

Im not, it is YMMV. If you have a thick file the BK effect to lenders lessens.

Im not suprised...I am a little jealous even though it is a low limit....

I have been banking with Chase for about 5 years....Direct Deposit $11,000 a month....you can see the cards I have obtained....

I STILL cant get chase to give me a card!!!!! Uggggg!!!!

I am trying again in August for the CSP.

I feel your pain. As I've posted in other threads, I've been trying to PC my slate into a rewards card. I was using secure messaging to do it. And they kept saying no. So i finally had time to call them and ask why. Seems my slate card, because it was a transfer from WAMU is marked as one that can never be PC'd into a rewards card. They are HAPPY to have me apply for another Chase card (and take new inq's on my reports) and see if I would be approved for a new card. Um, no thank you. Slate is my lowest CL, and I have a wallet with enough prime cards to make me happy, and all with rewards. Funny thing is, the only reason I wanted to keep that card is so i could add my children as AU (since they are both just starting to drive) and not have a really high CL on it. So off to the sock drawer it goes, and my kids may just as well get added to my BCE (since it appears I can set individual limits on each card)

have you thought about calling and recon to a higher limit or changing to the regular disney card, I am surprised they had such low limits on the premier card

So did they arbitrarily decide who was getting what when they took over? I had a WAMU and it was converted to a Freedom. Actually, the first card they sent me just said "rewards", and I inquired as to whether it was a Freedom or not, because it didn't say "Freedom" on it...a few weeks later, after hearing nothing back, I got a new Freedom card in the mail. It's been a few years so I just don't recall the exact details.

Maybe it depended on what kind of CC one had with WAMU? I don't remember what I had with them...all I know is that I got a Freedom and a ton of points that carried over from WAMU.

I will say that is why they say my APR is stuck at 28%. Ridiculous, but I just never carry a balance on it.

@lisaj I have read here of numerous former WAMU cardholders who got a Slate during the buyout that were EASILY able to convert. It may be because that was one of my rebuilders... and truthfully i let it sit dormant for a couple of years after I paid it off. This was the card that they cut my cl in 1/2 once i paid it off, stating in the letter that it didn't look like I needed that much. I figure that my credit profile doesn't fit their client profile...

and you may be right, my WAMU card was just a card.. no af but no rewards either.

Either way, that Wamu card served its purpose well...i'll keep my slate hooked into my nook account and charge something every few months to keep it active. I doubt I will ever see a PC or a CLI from them but its one of my older cards so i won't close it.

Congrats on your approval despite the BK. Im actually really surprised that Chase approved you so keep the card! You have set foot in the door. I am still afraid to apply for a Chase products cuz of my baddies on EX (which they seem to pull quite often for approvals). I applied last August and got denied. So tempted to try again but will wait a little longer (at least till August) and try again. Give it a year and your should be able to get a nice CLI!

What is your current highest cl?
Do you have any GE accounts?
A few gardened-well GECRB cards may be your ticket to higher limits; it was certainly mine.
