if you're uncertain about yoru chances, you can always apply for a charge card first. there's an annual fee though and an extra account that you don't really need is just going to drag your AAoA down unnecessarily as well.

I have made some good strides the last couple of months with cleaning and rebuilding my credit. Currently I have CAP1 secure(200), CAP1 CR(750), and just got a NFCU(5000)...I ultimately want to jump into the prime card sector at the end of year, beginning 2014...for AMEX, what would be the best route?...Green, Amex revolver, PRG, etc?...Fako EX(quizzle) is currently at 641, but want to get as close to 700 to give myself a solid chance..any thoughts??

AMEX charge cards seem to be a little easier to get if you are willing to pay the AF.

No, I'm 100% sure I wouldn't be approved...I'm just looking for some feedback as to what card would suit me. I want to get into the Amex family, just looking for the best avenue to do so.

Points? Cash Back? Hotel Stays? Airline Miles? What do you see yourself charging on the card? Gas? Food? Daily charges? Just for big ticket items?

Have SL that are in rehab since January, a auto loan w/ 4 30 day lates, last one in '08(paid off in '09)...CO from 07 that I'm disputing with HSBC(CAP1)and an LVNV collection associated with that acct, which I'm doing a DV as well...Once those get settled, then I think I would have a better chance. Other than that, clean payment history since jan 2010.
