Not unusual at all. Even with a standard card, banks generally quote 7-10 business days before arrival. It's usually faster, but it saves them the headache of people calling in, asking, "Where's my card? Where's my card?"

Chase Airtran card takes 2 weeks?

In my other post, I mentioned I got instant approval for Chase Airtran Visa siggy with a CL of $6,400 and a good signup bonus. This was on the morning of Saturday (5/4/13).

Fast forward to today and the account has NOT shown up in my chase online account, so I called up the appstatus number and it says still under process, then I talked to a analyst. She said the card was surely approved but it takes time for them to link it with Airtran (upto 2 weeks).

Is this common for Airtran cards? My Chase BA/United were online the moment they were approved.

Guys, the card is showing online now. What a funny thing. 5 hours ago they told me 2 weeks. I came here and posted this thread. Now the card is showing in my online banking.

Anyway, I just called Chase to expedite the card so that I can start working on $2k spend, and they said, sure. Will be in tomorrow.

The Analyst today told me that it may take 2 weeks to setup the card account and then watever time for the card to reach by snail mail.

Most of the time, the card account gets setup immediately and then it takes sometime in the mail.
