amex has gone canibal, eating thier own

well since i had 415 on my 4k plat delta when they "adjusted" my credit line i thought i should make a payment before the statement dropped.

i call and slater asks what he could help me with, i explain why i'm calling and why i wanted to pay so quickly. he say's i understand this has been happening to alot of people, in fact they just adjusted my limit as well.

i said really? did go knock on someones door? he laughs and said no. i asked what was the reason they gave you? he said experian is reporting a collection account, so i have to work on that.

i said good look and tipped him to check out myfico and credit boards. so slater, if your signed on welcome and let's get you back in your emoloyers good graces.

I'm not Slater, DNM, but I do work for a credit card company. It's an interesting world knowing both sides of the story. I just came here to work on my own credit scores but I like reading "slanted" posts about my company. Some are very accurate and some could be sold as a fiction novel. I hope you all find the way to your fico freedom. I'll be on the same road with you.

Don't suppose you'd be willing to drop a hint as to who your employer is?

There are always a lot of posts here that make me say hmmmm. It's easy for an outsider to see where the OP went wrong, while the OP is baffled and stuck in the anger.

IMO, a lot of posts are defensive and angry, resulting from not-too-smart moves by the poster, but an awfully lot are genuinely baffled and enraged from people who thought that they were doing the right thing. I'm pretty dang happy that I'm not trying to make my living as a CSR these days!

I was being a bit sarcastic-

I have no first hand knowledge of this- I know that Capone, HSBC(closed) and Junny seemed to know exactly where I stood.

I avoid calling WAMU- even though I love the card- I can't stand talking to CS.

Amex just knows I run up my balance and PIF- (this seems to make them happy)

I don't speak for every CC issuer obviously but I imagine they could be/are by every CSR, but in today's world most actions or inactions are mostly automated. You ask the monkey to push a button, he/she does and then something or nothing happens. If they didn't have access to it your CL's probably speak for themselves. 560 scores don't get 5 figure CL's unless someone put 10k down for a secured card. My best suggestion is if anything isn't suiting your fancy, would be to ask for a manager or the credit department depending on the issue.

I thought you were, but there might be some truth to your sarcasm. I still wonder why people claim that credit card company X's reps are nicer than credit card company's Y's reps. I've never had any problems with any customer service reps, in terms of courtesy. Some however, have lacked knowledge, I will admit.
