Bank of America Card Cancelled!

I called Bank of America this morning after i tried to use my CC and they told me that my card is with the Specialized Review Department and i called that department and they told me my account is being cancelled and it is a secured account. how do they cancel my account? this is ridicioulous!

were you abusing the rewards program or doing something crazy?

Has anything changed drastically in your CR? You have very good scores in your signature, so I am surprised they did it to you, especially since you have a secured card and that money you use on your CC is basically secured by the bank.

Could they also have graduated you to an unsecured and issued you a new account number?

Probably, in the same way that you can cancel at any time, so can they. See what reasons they give, although don't expect much detail. Obviously, you need to make sure that the deposit is refunded promptly if you can no longer use the card.

This scares me! mine is the 99/500CL cash rewards and i put around 1.3-1.4k on it a month! i pay it daily/weekly to keep the balance $0 i wonder it i could get mine closed? I bank with BoA so i hope im ok.

Do you bank with BoA?

I use the card dramatically by using the whole 10k limit and paying it off monthly so i guess they dont like that i use the card so much because they said it has something to do with my payments even though my payments always clear

Thats exactly what i do except i pay like 10k a week on it because when i opened it they said i have to use it alot so it will get graduated in a year to a 10k unsecured limit i dont understand but its not my only secured card if it does get closed ill just leave the balance and pay it monthly so it can extend my history

If it's closed it will still stay on your report for about 10 years. No need to leave a balance and pay interest.

BTW: with those scores, why do you have a secured card at all? Short credit history?

Yes my credit is coming up on 2 years long my scores are high because my parents have me as a authorized user on there cards so it helps me with cards but i have to make my own solid history

10K a week or a month? ie are you putting 40K through it, and is this "real" or manufactured spend?

Nope real spending and nope no accounts with them thats probably why there gonna terminate because they cant see the bank account my money is coming from lol and yes i use it alot

it verys yearly i own a Scottrade Bank account and im a music manager i own my own music management company!
