CSP and PRG question?

So, I have the CSP card, and my girl got a Amex PRG card recently. I was looking at the airlines offered for both, and can't find an airline that overlaps if you will to place her points and mine into the same account. She likes Delta,and Jet Blue.. I'm thinking of getting a PRG and downgrading to a regular Sapphire as it will save a fee on CSP. Is there an airline where the points could be combined? Right now the travel woul be CONUS, United states based? Thanks..

The thing bout both cards is that you can redeem / transfer points to hotels as well. it's not limited to just airlines. So you could use the CSP for hotels if you happen to stay with hotels that Chase is partnering with.

Other than that, it really depends on which airlines / hotels u use. If Chase's partners aren't really of much interest or use to you, then you're pretty much better off with Amex.

I don't know of any airlines that can combine those points from different creditors

I'm very interested in this topic also. I've been researching if there is any over-lay between airline partners that one could transfer points for maximum benefit of using both CSP and PRG. If anyone knows of any, it'd be awesome to know of them. . Thanks!

British Airways is the only airline that overlaps both MR and UR, and they can be redeemed for flights on their partner American Airlines.

However be forewarned that you are NOT allowed to transfer points into a frequent flier account that isn't yours. Chase will close down your account, cancel your card and confiscate all of your points without warning if you do this. They don't give second chances either, so I wouldn't try it.

It's against the UR T&C's, but there haven't been any reported instances of shut-downs for transferring points to a different FF account that I've seen yet. There HAVE been shut downs for transferring UR points directly to another UR account that isn't owned by the transferrer's spouse or domestic partner.

And yes, BA is probably the best option here. Read up on how to best redeem Avios on AA flights. It's absolutely fantastic for short haul flights (9k miles RT for flights under 700 miles, and 15k RT for flights 701-1,500), and an even better value when there is an Amex transfer bonus (like right now).

Also, Virgin America, a new addition to UR, also overlaps.

+1. Virgin used to be a good mechanism to transfer HH points, but ever since the recent devaluation there isn't much point for that anymore. It still overlaps nonetheless.

so can I transfer UR points to united (my account as well), and use those points to buy an air ticket for my brother for example?

Is it against the rules to transfer UR points to my spouse as well?

You can transfer UR points to your own account, and after they're in your own United account Chase doesn't care what you do with them. The names on the United account and your Chase account need to match. Afterwards if you want to redeem it for a ticket for someone else, you're free to do so. You should also be able to transfer UR points to your spouse's account, and this is the only exception.

Will it count for people who live with their girlfriends? (counts as domestic partner or whatever the term is right?)

I know they use address to verify, but after that I'm not 100% sure. Others may have a better idea than I do about this one.
