Be prepared for a grilling when you call Barclays. Same happened to me. Credit Analyst went over entire credit report before approving me for 5k.. FICO at the time was about 727 with no inquiries.

I've always found the analysts at Barclays to be very pleasant and professional. Guess it's all in who answers the call. They've always given me what i've asked for. Chase, i've never had to call as of yet, and really don't expect to, as they have been the first in awhile to auto cli both of my accounts.
