Discover IT Card Application

Just seeing if anyone has had this happen on a Discover IT Card Application. I recetly received a invitation code vis mail and decided to apply for it. I applied and recieved the following message. I called the toll free number but are closed due to the holiday

Hope someone can help

		Date Submitted: 5/27/2013 Your application is being processed. We have received your information but need to perform additional processing before we can provide you with a decision. You will hear from us within 30 days of your application being submitted. Please check back in the future to get an update on the status of your application.

It seems like they need to manually review your app. I would check back periodically today and if no decision call in tomorrow.

Give them a call sometimes they just need to verify you are the person who applied or address verification if you recently moved

Pros

-5% rotating quarterly categories

-Can get cashback and no cash advance fee shows up as purchase at certain stores

-U.S. based CS

-5% at Six Flags

-late payment forgiveness (no fee 1st time)

Cons

-Very conservative lender. Will reqire HP for CLI most of the time (YMMV)

Also, Discover is not as widely accepted as MC/Visa.

Overall, I'm very happy with mine.

When my sister applied she called rigth away and rep. said that she had to wait 24hrs for it to get into the system(IDK if that has happened to any1 else) Then they called 3 days after to verify app.(she got approved). Either you call or else they will.

My daughter applied on Sunday and got this message, Discover called her today to verify some info and approved her with a 1700 CL.

Congrats! It seems like DISCOVER is giving this card like handing flyers to everyone who applies.
