Gold delta skymiles credit card

I am a 21 year old college student and I was just approved for my first credit card. I got a discover student card but the card I really want is the Gold Delta Skymiles Credit Card because I frequently fly Delta and have quite a few miles built up. How long should I use my discover card before I have a reasonable chance at getting accepted by amex? Thanks in advance for the responses.

It would probably help if you had another card or two, but I think a year.

6 months. Make sure you have the income and assets to support the application too, but I think you'll be fine.

get a charge card with AMEX and garden. they like at least 2 major TLs on your CR. Delta is their easiest revolver to get though, so I've been told.

1 card and 6 months is sufficient for most, if not all, Amex revolvers. Don't apply for a charge card if you don't want one.
