Chase Southwest Airlines Card

My husban and I are looking at getting the Southwest card since the benefits work for what we need. We will have our discharge papers from our Ch 7 bankruptcy this week. If we apply for the Southwest card will we most likely get declined because of the bankruptcy?

AFAIK, Chase asks if you have any derogatory info on your cr.

IMO I would not attempt it, even if approved once it hits the CR they will close the account.

I have never had a chase card. I'm wondering if having student loans that have never been late and a Victoria secret card that hasn't had a late payment in over 3 years, if those will work in my favor to an approval.

BK is a definite deal breaker with Chase especially being so recent.

No, it will be a decline. You need to have a lot more history between the discharge and application . They may also want to see re-established rev cc history. Apping for a Chase product would not be a good idea for you now.

I really don't think Chase will look at a BK until at least 5 years down the road. I got lucky just shy of the 7 year mark so it is possible, just that you'll likely need to delve into the world of subprime rebuilder cards before you can start applying for the prime cards.

Unfortunately it will be a denial. I believe their application towards the tops ask you questions to prevent you from apping if certain situation apply to you.

Cap1 (Cash rerwards for average credit) will most likely extend to you right after and then also some store cards grom GE.

Not gonna lie you might even have to get some secured cards along the line too.

+2. Don't even waste your time with the application. You'll likely need to look into some secured cards perhaps to start off with.
