Total Rewards Visa from Comenity Recon Question

Hi all, I got the per-approved pop-up on the website, and I caved... I was hoping for a limit higher than the HSN account that was opened a month ago. BTW, that limit was $3500. So to my surprise, I was approved for 1k. I called the rep, who told me I would have to wait 30 days after I activate the card for a review for an increase. Is there a backdoor number that I can call? I'm expecting the card in the next few days and would like to recon for 5k, and hope for it to be a Signature Card. Going to Vegas soon, I'd like to rack up a bunch of points with the card.

Thanks for posting I so want this card, no I do not know a back door number...so the pop up is kind of like the shopping cart trick on thee other cards I guess, but with an inquiry when you apply

I was also instantly approved for $1000, maybe that's their default "starting" limit? I plan to recon once I receive and activate the card, I'll let you know how it goes.

So here's the update. I got the card yesterday, I called to activate it and spoke to a nice rep. Ultimately, he agreed to take a second look and was able to boost it to $1800. He said as long as its in good standing, you should have no problem getting another cli. Once I set up my account online, I was very tempted to hit the luv button but decided to hold off...

I got mine on the total rewards website. I was trying to register my casino reward card, when I finished, the pre-approval screen popped up.

Nice work on the recon! Glad to hear he was more reasonable than the first rep. Did you call the customer service number on the back of the card? Mine arrived today, but I haven't activated it or setup the online access yet.

Thanks, it's definitely better than nothing. I called the activation number on the sticker and after the prompts, I was able to get a rep that asked a few questions about income, etc, put me on hold for a few and told me about the increase. GL if you go for it. It was a SP too!

funny thing happened to me. i applied for the card a month ago and was declined. a few weeks later i logged into my totalrewards account online and got the pop-up. just applied and got approved instantly for $1500. hopefully i can get a cli when i activate. does anyone know how long it takes for the tier status to update? im going to AC next week and vegas soon and i wanted to get my platinum card from TR.

The letter that came with my card says that you will get the Tier upgrade when the card is activated. I just called to activate mine so I will let you know. I also got the limit increased to $2000. The rep told me it's all automated and they do not perform manual reviews for credit limit increases, so maybe hitting the "credit limit increase" button would have accomplished the same thing.

Awesome on the recon, I have not yet got the pop up however I plan to apply on august 1 when my util is lower
