Want that BCP...Do you think I can get it?

Ok. So here’s where I’m at:

6/13 MyFico EQ 738 5 inq. (3 < 1yr.) 46 pt bump last night!!

6/14 MyFico EX 739 1 inq. (0 < 1yr.)

6/7 Wally TU 715 2 inq. (1 < 1yr.)

I currently hold:

Disover IT $5,500 (not reporting yet) 5/2013

Local CU $2,500 5/2013

VS $1,000 (not reporting yet) 5/2013

Wally $2,500 5/2013

Chase $2,500 8/2006

C1 (HSBC) $1,200 12/2006

Barclay $2,900 2/2008

C1 $1,250 2/2008

C1 Rew. $2,750 9/2010

C1 (HSBC) $1,150 2/2008

BofA $ 500 7/2011

Total CL Available $22,500.

Util currently reporting @ +- 12%, but is actually around 22% (BT onto the IT at 0%!)

Since my last baddie was removed earlier this week, all three reports are clean. No lates, no baddies. I can’t find AAoA on the reports, but EQ shows 14 years history, and EX shows 16.

I’m really looking hard at the BCP. I would love that 6% on groceries!

I guess I’m just trying to determine my chances of getting it. I think I may only have a small window of opportunity before the Discover reports, but OTOH, maybe I should let it report first, as it is my highest CL…?

I’m also contemplating closing some of my lower CL cards that have AF, but no rewards. (Except the last C1 card, I added my 17yo DD as AU to get her started on her journey.) But then again, it would be of more benefit for her down the road to add her to the Amex if I can get it.

Thoughts, please?

After years of rebuilding after a particularly bad marriage and divorce, I guess I'm just not that confident in myself.

If (when) I do apply, does anyone know if it's better by phone or online?

Should be good for approval, but with all that new credit popping up they may deny you at 61 days for a CLI, but after 6 months, they should give you the CLI if everything else is fine.

How do I find out my CL, tho? I don't want to have to wait until the card comes...

Also, do they expedite if you ask?

If i can afford the HP then yeah go for it man.

There's $250 bonus from creditcard. com link for BCP. It's could help the AF for a good 3 years

Congrats! For the CL you will soon get an email with a reference to set up the online account and then you can see the CL. Or you might consider calling? You will love that card

But I do still get the $150 intro bonus on the 3 months spending. I'll take it!

I think you made an excellent choice.

Chances of getting approved for any Amex with several brand new accounts reporting is very slim
