Changing my GE card to another one?

So I've got a GE card with pretty decent interest (under 10) and a 1500 limit. It's for Ultimate Electronics though. I miss the store but the card is at this point useless and they may close my account (which I DO NOT WANT). Does GE allow you to change the product while retaining the CL? I'm not even sure my question makes sense by the way. Basically I'm asking if they'll keep my ACCOUNT but make it apply to a different store.

Been doing a little reading. Isn't that what people do when they request a product change?

Yes people do PC's all the time

Example freedom to CSP

Cap1 cash rewards to Venture

However GE cards are all store related cards so you can't PC say from amazon to walmart

GE has individual contracts with each company it deals with and treats each one differently. So chances are, no, you won't get what you're asking for.

Most of the successful product changes you read about on here are under one company "umbrella" as it were. Example, an Amex Zync to Amex Delta card or whatever.. Both cards fall under the American Express umbrella.

Is it worth asking for? Sure, they can only tell you no.

I don't think you can change between GE backed store cards, for example from JCP to Walmart. I think if a store goes under, that's it for that particular credit card.
