HAVE I FINALLY BEEN CRAPPED ON?

I had an old acct which was maxed out at 600 cl. After 5 years they gave me a new card with 3000 plus 500 cl if i used card for 3 months and pif. Then i combined cards using oldest date and a/f removed. Now a year later i ask for cli. denied, they treat the 3500 as a cli. ??????

I qualify for much better card but don't want the three hits.

I have no expectations for my Capone to go over the current $5K limit anytime soon- It just does not get used enough-

What is up with your EQ score?

I have the same problem. I combined my cards into a $3800 CL and now cannot get a CLI through them, even though I have 5 figure CLs from Amex, BOA, and Chase.

If you are looking to waste 1 inq instead of 3 I would say try for Amex, Citi, or Chase.

What's NOT funny is my phone call to the magic number yesterday, trying to coax another CLI.

DH was drunk and I have constantly referred to them as Crapital One. He see's the screen for their site up on my laptop and shout's out really loud that I was on the phone with "Crapital One". Needless to say, they really did not want to be number 1 in my wallet.

I will not try for any CLI's from them in the near future, since she seemed a bit peeved by his remark. For that matter, I want call any of them while he is looped!

I have had Capital One since 2000. My credit Limit has always been $1,000 and they have never increased it!

This may be a an ignorant question, but did you try the back door number? Rumor has it Capital One likes to see lots of usage with PIF for CLIs. I've also read about some members getting good CLIs after 1 year, FWIW.

I have to agree with everybody. I won't see any more cli's out of the 2 cards I have, because I've reached the maximum cl allowed on those particular tier of cards.

My only alternative is to combine the 2 for a higher cl, which I intend on doing, if possible.

If you use your Cap One card they are more apt to increase your CL. I got 500 when my balance was 965 with a 1000 limit. They use an automated system. I think it's probably based on a use/time formula. Say that you get a card with a 1k limit and in the first 3 months spend 600 a month and pif each month, the system sees this as high utilization (which is what the CCC's like) so you get the CLI thread available at the CSR's computer. But as the same account ages, the average usage goes down and therefore fails to trigger another CLI thread for the CSR to hand out to you. Follow? Just MHO...lol.

I tried the back door number earlier this week and as Suze Orman would say - I was DENIED. My current CL is 2300 and the card is PIF (as of this month) with no lates etc. My scores are currently above 790. I'm glad I SD this one.

I agree with a subsequent poster --call back and see if you get someone different. For a whole bunch of various reasons, I doubt that they documented what DDH said.

Personal rule of credit maintenance: never call on a Friday evening...

I may try to hit them up later. It did appear to be going somewhere at first and rapidly declined with his outburst.

He is scheduled to go for training for 3 weeks at Ft Bragg next week and is nervous about going. (Still no real reason for him to get trashed, IMO!!) I will definitely make sure he is gone when I do try again.

For a short while I had to make my payment through check... I always wrote "Crapital One" on it, I wonder if it affected me at all haha
