Shell Credit Card - Citi - What do I do with this thing?

I never used this card. The only thing it is good for is when I don't have cash and I am at the local shell station and I am spending less than $10 - no fee for shell card, otherwise 50 cent fee on credit cards. Unfortunately, when that happens, I forget the card in the sock drawer - so the card really isn't good for anything. IF I happen to get my gas at Shell, I'd rather use a card with good cash back.

Does Citi give CLIs without a Hard Pull? Should I care about this card? Should I just forget I have it and sock drawer it until the close it for lack of use?

Can I get a PC to the shell mastercard? Can I PC it to anything else?

I have an $800 limit, and was just wondering about this card because it is my lowest limit card.

Perhaps I should just cancel it? Will the low limit affect other cards when they offer a limit?

Since there is no fee on the card I'd just keep it and buy gas on every few months. I doubt they PC to MC version, but others with experiene can chime in.

Unfortunately, the Shell gas card cannot be PC'd to the Shell MC. If it provides no value to you any longer, you can let it become inactive or close it.

I have a Shell card too and I use it every month just to put some gas in my car or lawnmower. I have better cards for rewards too. I keep it open just for aaoa purposes. I got a cli on it and it was a hp. They also informed me it cannot pc to the mastercard. You could always use it just to buy a drink or something for the sake of keeping it alive.

I'm mainly wondering if an open card with only $800 limit will hurt future limits? It seems the card companies review other limits when deciding what limit to give you. For the sake of getting better limits on the cards I actually want, would it help if this account was closed?

If you dont like the rewards or the card and dont use it, shred it.

I do not beleive in buying things "just to keep it active".

Make your credit work for you not the other way around.
