I just opened Discover Cash Back Checking. I got the info from the other website. Here is the link:

10 cents on debit purchases, bill pay, and writing a check sounds awesome! I just opened one too lol . Since Chase got rid of the 10/10 program this is really cool for purchases that are just a couple dollars. I only put $25 to try it out, but if I like it I may actually switch all of my billpay to them too.

Thanks for the Link!!! I have been looking for this for a while but never got an invite. It's the perfect way to gain cashback on small purchases that normally wouldnt amount to anything.

I'm guessing that the 10 cents on debit purchases means using the supplied debit card (linked to the account) rather than your normal discover card, losing the 1% or more you usually get (whereas Chase gave you both). Still, for transactions under $10 there is some gain.

10c for checks and billpay isn't that great, as using Bluebird or Serve will probably give you more.

So, IMO better than a bad or average bank account, but you won't get a lot of money back, and with no reimbursment of foreign ATM fees, and no interest on deposits, not as good as the best.

I think it is good if you have a Discover card. It will give cash back by using debit card and writing checks. It is better than credit union. IMO. I was waiting for the link for a while. I wasn't invited it too. I need one to replace my BofA and Chase checking locally.

I don't think serve and blue bird gives you 10 cents per purchase. Most banks don't give much on interest. You have to use their debit cards too many times and direct deposit to get high high interest. It is a pain to do.

It's a good account, and better than normal checking accounts. It's good for bill pay if you have to use your checking account to pay something that you can't pay with Bluebird. I signed up for one. I"m going to get some use out of this.

What if I use my debit card to buy a 5 cent piece of candy at the quickie mart down the street? Do I get 10 cents back for that purchase? If I do, where's the cutoff? If I buy a million 5 cent pieces of candy in a million different transactions, do I get $50k back? haha... but no seriously.. anyone read the fine print?

I didn't see any purchase limit according to deposit agreement. I think you can buy 5 cents to get 10 cents back if the merchant accept your purchase. Here is part of th agreement:

12) CHECKING REWARDS AND INCENTIVES

If you have a Cashback Bonus-eligible Discover credit card, you may earn Cashback Bonus rewards based on qualifying activity

in your Checking Account. Eligible customers will earn Cashback Bonus rewards of $0.10 for: (i) each debit card POS purchase

transaction, (ii) each check written that clears the Checking Account, and (iii) each Bill Pay transaction that is successfully

completed

from the Checking Account. Such rewards will be earned monthly and posted to the Accountholder’s Discover card Cashback Bonus

account. It may take up to 60 days to post after the end of each respective monthly Cashback Checking Account statement period.

Discover Cash Back Checking Bill Pay is to pay other bills. not only their credit cards. Discover card's bill pay is only pay for their own credit cards only. Not paying others.
