I brought this up in another thread but I thought this might deserve its own. I recently went to Sears to purchase a treadmill and applied for a Sears Credit Card. The application came through approved for a MasterCard. I was so excited because I know Citi is a hard bank to get in with and since I am currently repairing my credit I was THRILLED!! Well...I received the card in the mail the other day and it is not issued by Citi but by HSBC, the card is called Sears Solution MasterCard. I guess Sears joined forces with them because Citi was turning too many people down. So I just wanted people to beware because I looked at my credit report and this resulted in 2 hard pulls!! One from Citi and one from HSBC. It also stinks because upon reading everything, it looks like you don't even get the nice benefits you get from Citi ( 0% interest, etc). I did receive a $15.00 Credit for opening up the card. I guess it will be sock drawed until the benefits get better.

WOW!! That's like expecting a Corvette and getting a Mo-Ped. Talk about bait & switch.

Sorry to hear OneDay.

I didn't even KNOW HSBC handled Sear's. I know they handle a Discover branded cc, when you get turned down by Discover.

What kind of cl did you get on the card? Decent I hope!

I see that HSBC is an undercover financer. They get you when others don't, plus the are also behind several retail credit cards.
