I know, it's probably an exhausted topic but I've done some searches and can't find exactly what I am looking for.

My dad added me as an account manager to his Platinum and Delta Sky card, does this do anything or do I need to be an ACM?

I've read mixed things about backdating, but assuming I don't get the history, Do I get his current CL and status starting from whenever I get added as ACM?

Do I get a HP when he adds me as ACM?

Would I be better served as an ACM on the Delta card with CL of 25k or on his Platinum? What concerns me with this is that his last month's statement on the Platinum was more than I make in a year.

Sorry for all the questions, trying to get my foot in the Amex door and just wondering how all of this works. I appreciate any help/advice!

Depends on what shape the accounts are in -- not just credit limit.

I'm unsure rather the account will report his original opening date on your credit but any future cards you get in your own name will backdate to the date you were added to this account.

NO HP for any type of authorized user stuff... only when you apply for your own card in your own name.

be authorized on both if you can but are you or him willing to pay the added fee to be on the platinum?

Both accounts are in perfect shape with the Delta at a balance of 1k and the Platinum paid in full each month. As for the added fee, that's not a problem. Would he have to add me as a platinum or would a gold card work the same way. Thanks for the responses

You need to be an ACM for the cc to show on your cr. which card is better, would depend on your cr profile but assuming your dad keeps his util low on the Delta cc, IMO, it would be the better card for you. There is no HP to be added as an ACM. If you've never had an Amex, your open date will be ?/2013. The backdating is only if you've been a cardmember in the past.

So if I go ACM with the Delta, am I safe in assuming that the CL would be the same for me since there is no HP? Sorry, i'm new at all of this!

Awesome, thanks for your help. I suppose since he added me as an account manager I could do it all myself I should probably clear it with him first though lol

How old are u ?? SEem like u pretty young but how come your score at 605 ???? Do you have any baddie ??? Apply for Amex required a pretty high credit score or denied.....

Yeah I have baddies, most of which stemmed from a divorce. I'm 31 and unfortunately just getting everything in order and cleaned up. I just got the discover it card but thankfully my dad is willing to help me out by adding me to his Amex. I know I would get denied right away if I applied for my own.
