Just applied Discover it online...but...

Did not approve instantly. Instead, it said to wait 5-7 days. What does it mean? Maybe I have too many HP's (5 within two months). I also mailed the application of DCU yesterday. Hopefully I will be approved.

You might need to be id verified. Did it ask you to set up an online account?

You very well may need to just verify your address or something as simple as that. Discover is known to be inq sensitive but keep your head up. Worst case you wait 6-12 months and try again. I remember app'ing for chase and it was not instant. It told me to call and when I did they just needed to verify my address was correct and then he told me I was approved and what my CL was.

Man, I thought I would just keep 3 credit cards the most. Who would have known that I couldn't stop applying in such a short time. I just want all the HP's happen at the same time so that they can all fall off at the same time in the future as well. My DW is not happy for what I am doing though... She is concerned about that I have given our info to too many financial institutions and it is shared by whoever I have applied. I start to think that I am having too many credit cards now if I am approved by Discover. I just cannot make up my own mind some times...

So, I see...someone's got the app bug! It definitely makes since to let new accts age together. Just make sure you app for cards that makes since to your spending. Think about the categories; BT , travel, cash, groceries, gas, overall etc. you should have at least one reward card for each category and one low APR basic card for emergencies.

Just call the regular CSR number and ask if there is any information they need from you in order to complete the application.

I am just done talking to the application department of Discover. They could not locate my app in their system! It is not even in their archives! I wonder what happen to my online app? I even provided my employer and my mortgage info to them online during the process. It is really strange! Could it be a glitch? They said I could app on the phone. If the first one went through, the second one would be stopped. I decided to wait 5-7 days to see what's going to happen..

I got a application number when I applied for Discover. I had to call new app department for information verification.

I have never seen an application number. It just told me to wait 5-7 days after I was done filling out the form online...

My DH applied this week and got a reference number. When I applied in Jan, no reference number just the please wit message.

Both were approved- YMMV

You could call again and ask to apply with the same HP. If they say no, then I would personally dispute the HP. If your app is not in the system then there should be no "proof" that you asked the to HP your CR.
