I dont wanna apply for a store card, i want the actual visa.

if so, who do they pull from? what scores are optimal?

bcnu, from what I've heard here Citi is not BK friendly, and Citi handles Macy's, so I wouldn't think so.
They are depending on when you filed BK. They use the same credit system as Bloomingdale's and I was able to get a card in November w/ a CL of $1500.00 and then get it increased to $2100 in February. I was upgraded to Ultimate Premier in March, which earns rewards on in store purchase and just got off of the phone with a CCR about half an hour ago. I requested the Visa version of the card and inquired about another CLI. I was told that I would be eligible for the CLI in another two months and that they would submit my request for the Visa and I would find out in a couple days if I got the upgrade or not. I'll repost when I find out if I get the Visa version.

My bankruptcy was in 2003. I included at least one citi card. When I first came to this forum and did all of this reading, but obviously not enough, I started applying for tons of credit. Little did I know, most of the cards for which I applied were administered by citi bank. I was declined for all of them, including Macy's.

I have a BK from 02 and recently applied for Bloomingdales ($200) and Macy's ($1k) and was approved. Actually, this is my third Macy's card- third times a charge and my second Bloomies. Don;t give up on Macy's just let your BK age. They gave me credit when I thought it was in the toliet.

I think because they are not Citi directly they approved. Also in another thread someone gave me a link for Citbank Credit cards and Macy's and Bloomies were listed. Therefore, if you want these cards I think its best you go through the stores direct APPLY website.
