      <description>&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;When you "activate" a card.&amp;nbsp; You are only turning on the card with that expiration date and CVC code.&amp;nbsp; The account is opened the day you were approved for the credit card.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;NOTE: The opposite is a popular mistake.&amp;nbsp; People apply for and receive a credit card in the mail with an annual fee and think they don't have to make any payments because they didn't activate the card.&amp;nbsp; Then they get collection calls and sometimes report past due to the CRA's because they were ignorant.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>
