Another Chase UR mall/points calculation question

So, I bought 2 tickets for a flight that came out to be $607.20

It was $520+ $87.20 for fees/taxes. From what I understand you dont get credit for taxes right?

Regardless, the purchase itself was $520...so if I bought it through the UR mall through travelocity it should be 1,040 points....yet I got an email saying I would get credit for 967??

I dont get it. I know its not a "big" difference...but thats not really the point. Why offer 2pts if you dont actually get 2 pts? And are they doing this with other transactions?

I better keep a closer eye on my point accruals.

Maybe its for another UR Mall purchase.

If not, just contact Chase to rectify the problem.

The UR Mall can be really buggy at times, from my experience. Send a secure message if it bugs you.

Well, it's ok for now its not that many points. I'd rather wait to see if other calculations are off from all of my other purchases

No idea if this is the case here, but on other similar sites, such as Citi Premier booking, there is sometimes a different breakdown of what constitutes fees and taxes. So sometimes part of the $520 will also count as taxes. If the UR broke it out for you this way, that really shouldn't be the case, but it comes up when comparing fees with other travel sites.

taxes and fees do not earn UR points from travelocity.com through ur mall.
i would just let it go, almost 4 ur points per dollar spend is good enough for me.

The OP appears to know that, so he/she is wondering why they don't get 4*520. Seems a valid enough question, you really do want to be able to understand how the rewards are calculated, even if the amount you do get seems good.
