First National Bank Omaha AMEX?

I just got a pre-approval for the First National Bank Omaha American Express card with no annual fee, no pre-set spending limit, and 0 % APR on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months. Also 2% cash back on groceries and gas and 1% on everything else? Supposedly says that this is "invite only" and that they've selected me and pre-approved me?

Anyone have this card or know about it? Is it worth the HP?

I ironically got a pre-approval inthe mail for this today. I like the fact that gas/grocieries are 2% but I have two or three cards that offer the same thing. Nice to see a decent pre-approval for myself though

Also I noticed they weren't being truthful when they said this card was invite only. I almost felt special

I hear FNBO cards are really hard to get approved for, if you got a special invite you must have really awesome credit!

I live in Omaha and they are a class act bank. Nothing shady abou them.

Also, it is hard to get your foot in the door. I think after signing over your first born son and signing your app in blood you will love your relationship with them.

I got the same preapproval last year and I was approved for the card. They gave me my highest limit at the time (3,500.00). I love them! They have great customer service, very easy website to look over your account. I just got a cli with them after 5 months to 6,000.00. They have a really good set up as to where you can call in every 4-6 months and see if you have a cli sitting in their system and if you do, it does not cost you a hp or sp because they use some sort of internal system based on how you are paying them monthly. I will tell you that if you apply, they do not give any instant approvals....they are all manually approved so don't be discouraged when they tell you to wait.

I got the pre-approved for the discover card, AP'd took about a week for the manual review, approved with a 6k CL matched my highest CL. No problems at all with them, haven't needed to call a CSR. Used about 30% UTL on the card since I got it, BT cost 3% no complaints from them, even gave me an auto CLI to 7.5k with a balance on the card at 6 months.

Had about a 700 FICO at AP time, no lates on any credit card account ever, had 6 old baddies showing all 6+ years old, mostly medical collections. They aren't paranoid they just like manual reviews.

Have you ever tried for a second card with them? I want to add a Mastercard later this year and thought about apping for their's when the 0% interest is up on my Amex with them. I wonder how multiple account friendly they are. You just don't hear too much about them on these boards for some reason.

Haven't applied for anything else with them I figure I would get a second invite from them when they are ready to give me another card, and my UTL has been too high for the last 6 months for me to think about applying with them, and I am still carying a balance on their card so probably not a good way to get approved, perhaps in 2014 when I am out of the garden.

I've gotten about 5 of their offers in the last couple months. (Most recent on this past Friday). They have SP'd me at least 3 times in that period. I may get one of their cards in June to replace a secured card but not before then.

I am very tempted myself but I have my eye on BCE and Discover IT hopefully sometime this summer.

I literally have 3 cards in my wallet that offer the exact same thing or better (fia amex/priceline visa 2% on all and cap 1 same exact).

Duncanrrr let us know if you get it. Sounds like a nice little bank card look good imo as well.

haha....I think they will be worth the wait. They are really one of my favorite cards. When I opened my card with them, they gave me a limit of 3500. The highest limit I had at that time was 1500 with Discover.

I'd gotten a few invites for the FBNO Amex and they finally caught me in a weak moment back in January. I apped online, and I got the "we'll get back with you" message. Called the next day and I'd been approved for $10,000! First five-digit limit for me, woohoo! So far, I like the card.

Same here. The highest showing at the time was 7500 and they approved one day later at 10 thousand. I have only had to speak to them once when the fraud department wanted to verify charges. I haven't used the card since January since I have the Fidelity card at 2%. I really just got it for the 0% interest that may come in handy. I was nervous it would be declined when I applied because I opened about ten or so new accounts and had about 17-20 inquiries. I was very surprised to be approved with reading about the manual reviews and how conservative they are. Any bank that gives a 22 year old with about 2.5 years of history that limit is good in my book though .

Is the Amex their best card? I noticed they have a Discover too but the reward structure is unclear on their website. Do they have any other cards worth looking at? FNBO has sent me multiple Pre-Approvals in the last couple of weeks but with a 13.9 APR and 1-2% rewards would seem like going backwards for me. Can anyone shed a little more light on FNBO?

Same sort of situation here. I've received several invites from them over the last few months, but they're not offering anything that I don't already have with other cards. So, no plans to pull the trigger. It's nice to feel wanted, though.
