Discover 5% category "online shopping"?

Just signed up for the final quarter's 5% category.

Does anyone know which online stores are elligible for the 5%? I can't find ANYWHERE what those can be... is it everything? I doubt that.

I know there's shopdiscover which can get you 5-20% back but why have a category for online shopping if shopdiscover already exists (and doesn't have every online shop).

Last year it was anything and everything, not just shop discover. I bought a washing machine from Home Depot which I could have paid for at the store, but 5% is 5%.

I have a piggyback question. For the online shopping 5% do they stack cashback? Meaning if I use shopDiscover and buy from a store that offers 20% cashback will I get the 20% +5% back or just one or the other? Never used shopdiscover before but I Planned on giving it some usage for the Christmas holiday if these cashbacks are worth it.

Yes!!! This is one of the great things about the Discover cash back policy. Last year I bought my DH's Christmas present online through Shop Discover. They were also offering an additional cash back bonus on top of that for certain retailers. Between the 5% online bonus, the Shop Discover bonus and the additional retailer specific bonus, I wound up getting 18% cash back.

Yep. I'm going to do a lot of my online holiday shopping with my Discover card because of this. Congrats to you, and enjoy your new card.

Do you think this would work on rent payments? My mom's apartment complex takes rental payments online and does not charge a fee. 5% cashback on $1700 rent would be nice for a few months

Note $1500 spending cap eligible for 5% cash back in the quarter i.e. $75 cash back max from 5% roatating category per quarter.

Last December I paid for ebay seller fees using my discover card, and I was surprised to see the fees counted as an online purchase.

Hope this year online bill payments work!

Aww man, last year I used the card for travel and government stuff, and got a nice cashback with it. But still, it's a great category to have!
