denied amex! help!

so after a year of gardening, I apply to amex ( already have a gold amex) denied!

I paid down my other cards and utlization is currently @ 12%

they pulled experian (my CURRENT FICO 734)

they said my fico is 697 and are using a fico from august, I explained on the recon number that is no longer the case and she said said she will resubmit and I will get an answer in 5-7 days.

I was under the impresion they would pull a current report. I also wonder if I am provoking a FR ? I have had amex gold for 19 months, my aaoa is 5 years, nothing bad.

I am knda freaked!

Amex does tend to use the last pulled fico for some reason you almost have to see when was the pull to keep up

Sorry to here you should get approved after the manual review though hopefully!!

As for the pull I agree I caught on to that as well, I dispute with all 3 without completely going through the dispute process to see when lenders soft me, so if I know I'm ready to ask for something through a soft ie: CLI or PC change because by doing this I can see when they reviewed my account (in the "inquiries that don't affect you section" and based off the time of the soft pull I look through my report from that exact day to see what they see and If I think the current credit stats have a competing/compelling chance to get accepted I go forward with asking them about such change from the lender. (I think we should make a stickied about this) but good luck rob!!!

I hope so! I couldnt take waiting any longer so i apped again lol, Its been a year so I figured 2 pulls are ok

I applied to bank of america cash reward and approved 1.5k! yay

i still hope they approve me on the amex though!

so I just got an email that said thank you for applying to american express Blue, your application is currently being processed. you will be notified after after the process is complete.

I was just denied a cli on my HHonors with an Experian of 770 and the only reason stated was "recent failed payment" (which I was complaining about here)

Grrrr...and its my own fault, which especially irks me.

that sucks esp. bc it is easy to make one mistake and miss a payment but that is a high score to deny( at least I think so)

the only Thing I wasnt aware of is that if you are an exsisting card holder they may not use current scores to make a decision(at least with amex anyway)

I was stressed earlier but I have calmed down. at least I called and they can bring up the current info( CLI, Paid down cards dramatically, these are other cards I have)

i will post here when I get a decision

thanks Thom I have already been to this link and it just says processing, anyway youre right if I am denied, oh well.

as for the softpull, well it would have stayed a softpull if I would have left the initial denial alone but when I called for the recon and for them to get a current CR it will now be a hardpull,

so I got the decision back! still denied!, oh well, at least I picked up the boa cash rewards. back to the garden for me! for at least 6 months!

Do you have any negatives/baddies on your CR? Even if you have a paid collection AmEx will not approve you.

I have had amex gold card for two years. no baddies, utl good , current fico they pulled 724. I have no clue
