My first and second CAP 1 cards were secured, and they pre-approved me for my 3rd-a K-Mart M/C.This was over 10 years ago and before I started screwing up really bad and went into collections with them. You can always apply for an usecured, AFAIK they let you have more than one.

The card does not do a product change but as someone on this board told me just use it for what it is. A secured card with a not great but major lender better than the first permier or other really low end lenders with lots of fees. I am glad i applied for the card first because without it i dont think i would have been able to get the boa secured which is harder to get. Also, the ability to do a secured cli without a hard pull is a plus as well as some have said on here that they have recieved unsecured cli of $100 it may not seem like a lot but anything is better than nothing.

I wish I knew my fico score during the times I got my Cap one and boa cards but I didnt subscribe to sw till June and I got the cards in march and may. I have been with boa for 6 plus years and have a good amount of money with them I am not sure how much that helped me. Imo The boa secured is the best secured card on the market right now because of the PC to the 123 rewards (just call them after u get approved for the regular secured to change the card). Also most people say it graduates in about a yearwith a higher cl them your security deposit.
