What is the criteria to obtain United Mileage Plus Card

Hello Family,

Please tell me your experiences good or bad with obtaining this card. What are the criterias, what exactly are they looking for when they want to improve you. What should or shouldnt you have on your credit file. Whats an ideal score. What is a good way to get your foot in the door. Please give me an overall picture on how to obtain this card. Thank in advance

Which United card are you referring to? The Explorer or the Club card?

I got mine with a 675ish TU. one 4yr old collection. I only had one CC and it was at 70% util,because cap1 hadn't reported.

From what I can tell, they've GREATLY reduced the approval criteria since it's previous incarnation (CO PP). Like most of the other travel cards, if your FICO is ~700 with no recent or major baddies, and a decent income, you'll probably be ok.

Most people are scared off by the large AF, and unlike similar cards with AFs around $400-450 (JPM Ritz, Citi Prestige, Amex Plat), the UA Club has no $200 airline credit. This essentially makes it much more expensive than it's competitors, but if you can make use of it's benefits it's an absolutely fantastic card.

I'd highly recommend it if you fall into one of the following categories:

1. Are a frequent flier and want full RCC membership

2. Push a fairly high amount through your cards annually (more than 60k), and you value UA miles. This is the break-even point mathematically when compared to the CSP, assuming 1.5 vs 1.07 miles per dollar of general spend, and an average value of ~2 cpm. Depending on how much you value RCC membership, the breakeven point may be lower (for example you'll need 30k in annual spend if you value lounge access at $200).
