Capital One Chat Worked for PU!!

I'm very happy to report that I logged in an started a chat with an online rep this morning and had some success. I asked for an upgrade from the Cap1 Platinum MC to the Quicksilver. I told him that with other rewards cards in my wallet, I had little incentive to ever use my Cap1 card. He "reviewed" the account for quite some time and then transfered me to another agent...also online. That agent quickly came back and said that my account was eligible to be upgraded to the Quicksilver One. Not what I was looking for, but 1.5% cashback is better than no cashback and the card looks cooler. He said that I'd be eligible for another upgrade in 6 months and that I should be able to continue to request CLI. Hoping to get my CL from $2K to $5K in the next 6 months and upgrade again. Might be ambitious, but I'm up for it.

I have had the credit steps Platinum MC for only 3 statements.

i cant find the chat button.

ive been trying to PC my Retarted MTV Visa Card to Quicksilver but I cant. idk why. i have this account for about 4 years and its been paid off for a year,

i tried EO, still waiting on my CLI and they couldnt do a PC for me.

Cool, I got inspired to give the online chat a swing before I go through EO or something...

Complained that my account keeps saying im "ineligible for CLI" and since no rewards, card doesnt get any use, blabla.

They gave a canned response about CLI policies, but i was quite surprised they offered 1.5% cb and no annual fee. Bingo!

So, got the platinum upgraded to quicksilver card, hopefully the CLI on this "new" quicksilver card will be "eligible" for consideration in the future.

I may be gettin' ahead of myself, but I'm actually starting to like cap1 more and more..

seems like even their online CLI requests are ~~going~~ trickling through for some people on the forums.

So, I have previously attempted a chat session to PC my platinum to a quicksilver and was told no. I saw this thread and decided "what the heck, I'm going to try again!" BAM, changed over through a chat session! Thanks OP

The chat button was on the summary screen for me. I think it's only there if there is an available agent to chat with. I'd try first thing in the morning.

yeah it doesnt show for me, it never did. ive been trying to get a PU for awhile.

Because of this post, I decided to give it a shot. Got on chat and I got the general message to do it through the manage options deal online. I told them that it didn't work again and she said that there is nothing available for me right now. Crazy that 3 of yall were able to succeed with this today and I got the general response to do it myself lol typical!

Saw this thread(and other success stories). Logged into Cap 1 and spoke to the chat person. Requested an upgrade to the QS. He told me there was an offer to upgrade. I was then transfered to another rep who ran down what I was getting and what I couldn't do in the next 6 months after accepting the offer. Quick Silver card should be arriving soon for me to activate. I'm stoked!

Platinum Mastercard with the $39 annual fee.

Had the card 8 months.

I see the QS is a Visa...now I'm down to one Mastercard in my wallet. I'll be needing more when I leave the garden.

I know some people are troubled about people like me "overloading the system" especially after holding a card a short amount of time. Honestly, I do understand since I also believe people should pay their dues, but Cap 1 was known for keeping people at a certain limit for a long time, as well as not allowing PCs like that. I would be willing to wait, but thought maybe by then, they'd go back to being less generous. Figured I might as well take a shot! It turned out successful and I'm once again grateful to Capital One!

Same thing here. Chat person sent me a link to apply for yet another Cap1 card. Of course the link was to a hard pull so I didn't do anything. I really don't want to wait until November to get make a decision on what to do. I'd like to get rid of my Credit One, but at least they have increased my CL, whereas I can't seem to get this Orchard to do anything but sit there. $420 for the last 2 years.

Capone platinum MC $0 AF, $1000 CL (through EO cli once) successfuly upgraded to quick silver.

Like the OP, the first agent I chatted with transferred me to a second one who later approve my request.

I think you guys may have some luck if you get the "right" agent. Just keep trying.

I was thinking of trying again, but I was worried that they would see notes in my file that I already tried today...I might try going through FB or EO.

For those of you who have had success PCing through Cap1 chat, do you know whether the "modify your features" button allowed you to upgrade at the time of the chat, or did the chat go above and beyond the button?

That button had never worked for me. In the chat I told them I was disappointed that the button never worked.
