Rebuilding but REALLY want DISCOVER IT!!!!

Hey!

So, I don't know why...but I have become hell bent on this DISCOVER IT card. I must have it.

As a person rebuilding. What should I be trying to get my score to AT LEAST...prior to applying?

I know Discover is promoting the heck out of the card right now so they may not be AS strict but I am sure right now if I applied...the response may be "LOL" hahaha!

Anywho...how is Discover overall? Are they a bit easier to obtain? I know they are easier than AMEX but are they on par with the various Visa/Master's out there? or easier?

It's really hard to say without providing your profile such as # of Inq, AAoA, Score, Util, Derogs, etc. There's more to look at than just the score alone. Once you provide that info, others may be able assist you.

I have...

4 inquires

TU Score (FICO) 578

Util: 1 Capital One is CHARGED OFF, CL was 200. Balance is 355 so 175% UTIL

6 accounts in collections -- paying 4 OFF next week. 3 have agreed to PFD

I know it's no way...I'm going to get approved now...I just am trying to set a goal and get this DISCOVER IT....Set goals and accomplish them!!

I applied a week ago and just received mine today. My FICO score was/is 637 with quite a few public records. I got the 7 to 10 day notice and called the expidited processing no I was given on the screen. It shocked the you-know-what out of me when she offered me the card! It's the most prime card I got during my recent 9 application spree. BUT I didn't get the 0% apr-I had to take a higher APR offer, but to me it's worth it just to be in their family! Good luck if you decide to apply!

Do a Google search for "credit pulls database."

There is a pretty through database of card apps out there that includes when the person applied, their score, approved/denied, and notes.

I almost always use it before applying for a card to help ensure I don't waste a pull.

Discover It Card requires excellent credit
but when i applied and was approve my EQ score was 697

but with your score i'm sorry i don't think they will approve you.. best of luck

Well of course they won't approve me now. That's not even a thought in my mind.

My initial question was more about the score.

Congrats!! I applied for Discover it last week and said I needed a co-signer. I called and re-con, the csr said I have too many inquires and a public record and still wasn;t approve? Should I try to call back and speak to another csr or is there another backdoor number I should call!! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My DS got approved with an AAOA of 2 years and 5 months with a EQ Fico of 700+ Her Credit is very limited so they only gave her a $1000 CL.
