CapOne Platinum MC Newcomers...

... is no longer an offering by CapOne.

The card offered 2% cash back rewards on travel related purchases, 1% on everything else, and no AF or FTF. The interest rate is high, something like 24.99%, but if you are a PIFer, then that wouldn't matter. Was targeted mainly to those new to the country who needed to establish credit. However, even some credit rebuilders (like me) were able to get the card. I literally just got approved for the card in July and it disappeared in late August (I believe) probably due to the new Quicksilver offering.

So far, I've been told that nothing is changing with my card. No PC, no changing of the rewards. However, from reading around, it seems CapOne can be random depending on the card that is being discontinued.

I'd like to hear experiences from those who had their CapOne card go away. Can you tell me if I should be concerned that I may end up with a second QS card (or a basic Platinum card) or will they most likely leave it alone? I have no idea honestly and the CSR's even on the back door don't have an idea of what will happen, so just trying to look at history here to get an idea if I should be concerned or not.

I will have 2 QS cards soon and might make it 3 (I have a theory that it can sustain a higher CL) DW has a newcomer card and hasn't heard anything yet.

I'm curious. Did you ask for the second QS card as a PC or was it offered to you?

1.Cap 1 Plat > Almost got a PC to QSO, I declined at the last moment (thought QSO may have a higher ceiling.)

2.Cap 1 Green No hassle > Asked for and given a PC end of July

3.Orchard Bank Plat > Got an email last week, will be auto PCed to QSO
