NFCU goRewards Cash-back?

How does it work exactly?

I read the following info on NFCU website and it states, "No partial redemption can be made." What does it mean?

For example, can I not redeem my points until I have accumulated 5,000 or over?

If I have 5,780 points, I can only redeem 5,000, then what is going to happen to my other portion of 780 points when it reaches 4 years mark?

(goRewards points will expire in 4 years) Am I just going to loose the 780 points, since I cannot redeem it?

If you let the points that you earned this month sit in your account until september 2017, then those points from september of this year will expire and you will not be able to use them.

I got the point. I am looking for a very specific answer to: if I do not spend enough and my accumulated points do not reach to the redemption level and those points reach 4 years mark, am I going to just loose them? Let's say I earn 780 points this month and then I stop using the card for 4 years. Since my accumulated points have not reach or over 5,000, I cannot redeem it. That means I will loose it in Sep 2017, right?

My biggest problem is that I do not plan to use the card often. So I don't see that I will always accumulate enough points to redeem it before I loose it.

And that's why I went with NFCU platinum for a lower APR, the rewards they offer isn't that great, since I won't use the card that much.

OP - as noted above, if you don't accumulate enough points for even the lowest redemption tier in a 4 year span, you will lose them.

I see. Well, since I do not plan to carry a balance, the APR does not affect me. I want a no AF no FTF card. I can just use the goRewards card as a no rewards one.

What stinks is I have moved 4K from my cashRewards to the goRewards. I did not know NFCU would give me 1K only after I was approved. I thought my 6K Chase Freedom was the lowest limit I had ever gotten. Oh well...

Time for you to stop for a bit. NFCU is generous and within a few months your cl will improve. Whether it takes additional HPs is another story.
