Hard or Soft Inquiry?

I was just wondering if someone could answer the following questions about CLI on being soft or hard?

Target Redcard soft or hard?

Elan financial services card

Cap1

Best Buy

Sears

Just curious, if those are hard or soft if asked for a CLI

Also is common that 2 of my cards that i was approved for didnt put a hard inquiry on my account? But it put a inquiry on my friends account, when they applied.

Such an incident is not common but could conceivably happen. However, you will need to check your individual CRs to determine if those inquiries appear on record. Otherwise, you will need to check with your friend in the event the inquires landed on his/her CR due to a mixup -- or for whatever reason.

Stupid question but what does YEMV mean? And i dont have a Citi Bank issued BB card, its Cap1 issued, so would it also be SP?

No such thing as a stupid question YEMV = Your Experience May Vary ... also used frequently, YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary.

If you had a previously issued HSBC BB Card that transitioned to Capital One, then it would be HP. If it was issued after the BB portfolio was acquired by Capital One, it likely would be SP (but many folks CLI experiences are all over the place). However, it would appear some folks are waiting until the Capital One/Citi BB transition efforts complete to determine if there is more flexibility with CLIs.
