Need help with AMEX!!

Ok so I think that I may have been a little to excited and got my days wrong with the 61 day CLI...applied this morning declined. Reason is AMEX does not give increases within the first 60 days off account being open. Well where does that leave me? Should I wait a week and try again? Any advice please. Account was approved July 11th.

Try again tomorrow sometimes that message is given due to different timezones

Some people have got that message in the morning and tried again that night and then got the results

My account was also approved 7/11. I requested it Tues (9/10) morning at about 12:45 am. Got the too soon response. Slept, woke up, remembered mountain time, did it again and got it. Maybe your approval date is wrong?

Remember, the 3x CLI is calculated by account creation not approval date

The approval and account creation dates may not be the same. To be sure, its always safer to ask

So I need to call THEM and ask for my creation date? Or do I get this off of the statement? My credit report? Or where?

You can call or if you have a copy if your EQ or TU report - it will list the month AND date

I don't even think it has hit my CR yet because I usually get a notification from one of the companies with the FACO scores saying something was added or changed and I haven't heard anything yet.

It might report prior to your eligibility. My DHs Delta card reported within 30 days -YMMV

To be sure, give them a call and ask when you are eligible.

Welcome. Remember, if you do jump the gun you are not penalized. It will tell you that the account is not eligible.
